Pygmalion in Warsaw

Benjamin conducts the first ever Rameau opera to be performed at Warsaw Chamber Opera, "Pygmalion", in a new production. The opera, along with music from Rameau's "Dardanus" and Clérambault's "Orphée", will also be given live in concert and recorded for national broadcast by Polish Radio.

New concert hall in Wroclaw

Benjamin conducts for the first time in Wroclaw's fabulous new concert hall, the National Forum of Music, which opened at the beginning of September. The programme will feature music by Telemann and Mica, and the finest young period instrument musicians - and singers - from Poland.

The Hanover Band and supersized Beethoven

The Hanover Band - with which Benjamin appears regularly as guest conductor - present Beethoven's Symphony no.5 in a collaboration with several youth orchestras in and around London and the Southern Counties, culminating in a performance at London's St.Pancras Station and featuring almost 200 young musicians.

Odissea at the London and Göttingen Handel Festivals

Benjamin's new ensemble - founded with the violinist Jorge Jimenez - gives its first concerts at the London and Göttingen Handel Festivals. In a collaboration with the soprano Suzana Ograjensek, the ensemble perform Handel, Geminiani and Scarlatti.

Così fan tutte premieres in Århus

Following weeks of intensive rehearsals, Benjamin conducts Elisabeth Linton's new production of Mozart's "Così fan tutte" for Danish National Opera. Århus Symphony Orchestra will be in the pit, but as the production tours around Denmark - culminating in performances at Copenhagen's Royal Opera House - the wondrous score will also be played by Odense Symphony Orchestra, Sønderjyllands Symphony Orchestra, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra and the CPH Phil.
